Our clients' brief

Our clients had fallen in love with their quiet Avondale location. Having created their ideal indoor environment, they were now keen for some help to get the most out of it, integrating the interior with the outdoor courtyard and generous surrounding garden zones.

Our design response

We enjoyed having an expansive section to design here, enabling us to both ensure that it incorporated everything on our clients’ wishlist while still offering a cohesive solution.

The starting place was the courtyard zone that flows from the living area, and from there you progress to an outdoor BBQ zone, a walk through mini-orchard and raised garden beds.

The clients wanted family and friends with children to feel free to wander so our plan brought in plant selections that would be tactile, interactive and safe for kids (allowing for the occasional bee!)
